影片根据小说《亚瑟：跨界穿越丛林寻家狗》中的真实故事改编，跨界讲述瑞典越野赛车手Mikael Lindnord（马克·沃尔伯格 饰）和队友们在比赛中穿越厄瓜多尔雨林时，给了一只可怜兮兮的流浪狗肉丸吃，没想到狗狗跟着他们完成了剩余的700公里比赛。
