白石饰演的主角小野田诗弦就读于京都市内大学的女大生，人做人爱开始了期盼已久的单身生活，人做人爱但恐怖报纸就送来了。一开始以为是恶作剧的诗弦，后来接二连三地发生了和报纸上写的一样的事件。由于“恐怖新闻”一天读一次就会缩短100天的寿命，让前途广阔的大学生活也会变成与死亡相伴的噩梦。
